Episode 55: G.L.O.W. Finale & Random Match #2

August 10, 2017

For episode 55 Sara and CJ go over the last few episodes of Netflix's GLOW series. How did the pilot episode shoot for the gorgeous ladies? Why does Rich Sommer always play such terrible guys? How did the series wrap up?

In the second part we go through another random network match, thanks to:

Samoan Swat Team vs Mike Justice & Tony Suber 3-25-89

The match wasn't terrible but very short so we filled in with some 1989 background and the like. Guess what, March 25, 1989 wasn't very exciting... Sorry if that's your birthday.

Episode 54: WWE Battle-frown & G.L.O.W.

July 25, 2017

In episode 54 we tackle the lackluster Battleground "special" from the SmackDown Live crew. The show started off well with a great tag team title match between The Usos and New Day but was mostly downhill after that. "Hey don't forget AJ and Kevin!"-Sara

After the break we run through the next few episodes of G.L.O.W. Stereotypes, another WWE cameo, and some social media feedback.

Episode 53: NJPW USA Night 2 & Great Balls of Fire

July 13, 2017

Sara and CJ dive (sorry Randy) into night two of NJPW's G1 USA special as well as WWE RAW's Great Balls of Fire network special. NJPW's USA title tournament more than delivered with three very good matches and lots of drama.

Great Balls of Fire was a decent show with a cool main event of Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar that left us wanting more. Other quality stuff included the 30 minute Iron Man tag team match, anything Braun did, and all that color! I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET!

Episode 52: NJPW G1 USA Special Night One

July 6, 2017

In episode 52 Sara and CJ discuss night one oF NJPW's G1 USA special. We didn't realize how long of a night we were in for but sure glad we tuned in. This was our first foray into all the amazing talent NJPW has to offer and they didn't disappoint.

Episode 51: Net-Plex & Chill

June 29, 2017

In episode 51 we dive into a couple of Netflix pro wrestling offerings. First we look at episode one of Lucha Underground (the first two seasons are available). It was interesting to go back and revisit the temple. We get introduced to many of the luchadores and there's a nice main event featuring Johnny Mundo aka John Morisson) and Prince Puma aka Riccochet.

In the second half we look at the show "GLOW", which is based of the women's wrestling promotion of the 80s. We go over our initial thoughts after the first couple episodes--all spoiler free of course. No you're not experiencing deja vu, it's another John Morisson sighting.

Episode 50: Money In The Bank 2017

June 22, 2017

In episode 50 Sara and CJ talk about SmackDown Live's Money In The Bank network special which took place in our home town of St. Louis--yes yes Randy Orton's from there too. We got our first ever MITB womens match, Lana's first televised singles match, and some legends of St. Louis wrestling. Most of the action was pretty good while the match finishes left something to be desired. womp womp

Episode 49: Southpaw Regional Wrestling & Match TBD #1

June 15, 2017

In episode 49 Sara and CJ discuss Southpaw Regional Wrestling--much like WWE at times we're behind on popular culture. It was a fun little parody of a small, late 80s wrestling promotion and its crazy roster of characters. Who was the funniest person? What does it say with regards to WWE's utilization of talent?

After the break we do our first random match. We let the fates decide what match to watch and it led us to our first Smokey Mountain Wrestling screening! The link to the match randomizer is here:  http://www.networkplaylists.com/randomizer.php

Episode 48: Extreme (Or Not) Rules 2017

June 7, 2017

In episode 48 Sara and CJ go over RAW's Extreme Rules network special. There were a lot of head scratching decisions, not so much extreme, and just what are the rules? Neville and Austin Aries had a good match and the main event delivered as well. During the wrap up, we go over our Top 5 "Extreme" (wink!) moments of the night.

Episode 47:

June 1, 2017

In episode 47 Sara and CJ take another jaunt into the world of Japanese wrestling and this time we focused on the women. The three matches we watched featured two performers already with WWE, Nikki Cross/Storm and Asuka/Kana. Two other performers, Kairi Hojo and Io Shirai, are perhaps on there way to WWE.

Episode 46: UK Special, Chicago TakeOver, Backlash Rapid Fire

May 24, 2017

In Episode 46 Sara and CJ digest all the good and bad from this past weekend's full plate of WWE's sports entertainment! The UK Special featured (hopefully) many of the great talents that will be on WWE's upcoming UK weekly show. Pete Dunne continued being the best and Sara got to see one of her faves, Wolfgang.

NXT TakeOver: Chicago was not only the best show of the weekend but also had the best match with Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate facing off for the WWE UK Championship. Asuka kept dominating while the biggest story involved DIY. #FreeHideoItami

Lastly, we do a rapid fire on Backlash. Nakamura had his network special debut but was it strong enough? Breezango keep showing everyone how entertaining they are, AJ and KO are AJ and KO despite that finish, Jinder Mihal (much to uproar of fans on both sides) claims the WWE Championship, and the wheel keeps spinning!
